One of the workouts that I enjoy doing is yoga. I love it when I follow yoga videos that give you a full workout. The type that not only gives you a good workout but also places you in this good meditative state. It helps me to have not only a refreshed body but a relaxed mind as well.
Tree pose is one of those positions in yoga that I enjoy doing. There are days when it is easy for me, but there are also times when it is the most challenging part of the workout. It involves standing while placing one foot on your inner thigh. You do this as your other foot remains flat on the floor. You place your hands up above your head and place your palms together. You hold that pose for around 30 seconds to a minute and then you do the same thing using the other foot.
This pose involves a lot of balance and good posture. It helps to give you strength in your core, hips, and legs. But my favorite part of it all is how it requires a lot of concentration. You also need an awareness of your body to keep the position.
If I am working out and my mind is all over the place, it is a sure thing that I will not be able to hold that pose. I find that not having a clear mind during the process will make me topple down almost immediately. Doing this pose helps me know how I am mentally. If I have too much on my mind, I will not be able to hold that pose. If I am doing fine, I can hold it for the required time and feel so refreshed after it.
Something I have learned when doing this pose, it is that there are times when you need to let things go. There are moments when you need to be still and be silent. Times when you need to relax. Time to let go of the things that are bothering you. If you can't change them by worrying, I've learned with the help of this to let them go.
Another thing I learned about doing the tree pose is that you need to keep your eyes on one fixed point. You look straight ahead and focus on an object in front of you. Keeping your eyes on that helps to keep the pose steady and your body balanced.
I have realized that the ways to stay on the tree pose is something you can apply in real-life situations. Sometimes when you have too much on your mind, you need to let things go. You need to take a step back and take your mind off things. It helps your mind to course correct and find renewed balance. It’s the same as when you let go and clear your mind when doing the tree pose to balance your body.
It’s the same thing with focusing on one fixed point. Sometimes we have too much on our plate and nothing goes right. But if we try to stop and focus on one thing at a time, we can steady ourselves enough to clear everything in the end. When doing the tree pose, the focus on a fixed point helps to give you balance. It helps to clear your mind. That way you can find better ways to deal with whatever is bothering you one step at a time.
Doing the tree pose can be a challenge but it is also so satisfying to do. It helps me feel taller, stronger, and more balanced both in my mind and body. There is also a certain confidence that comes from this. I get better posture after doing this pose and it helps give me the added confidence that I (often) need.
As doing the tree pose has taught me, yoga is a good way to gain strength and to learn how to focus and let go of distractions. It has been a good method to remind myself to let go of other things clouding my mind and to focus on what's important. That's the way to find a balance in life. The physical and mental health benefits of yoga prove that it is great for me. It helps me to be ready to face the challenges that life throws my way.
